Step by step
- 1
Higashiyama Line, Platform 1 → Fujigaoka (¥310)
At Nagoya Station (H08), take the Higashiyama Line from Platform 1, toward Fujigaoka. Ride to Fujigaoka (H22), the end of the line.
Don't get caught: late at night some trains stop at Hoshigaoka and don't go to Fujigaoka. Check the destination on the train. - 2
Change to the Linimo at Fujigaoka (¥400)
The Linimo is a different railway. Follow the Linimo signs to Fujigaoka Station (L01).
- IC card (manaca, Suica, ICOCA and other Japanese transit IC cards): just touch in again at the Linimo gate.
- Paper ticket: buy a Linimo ticket to Ai·Chikyu-haku Kinen Koen (¥400).
- 3
Ride about 13 minutes, then Exit 2
Take the Linimo toward Yakusa and get off at Ai·Chikyu-haku Kinen Koen (L07). Trains run about every 8 minutes in the daytime. Use Exit 2 — Ghibli Park is right by the station.

Before you go: Ghibli Park
Big bags and lockers
The park itself has no baggage service. Lockers are inside Aichi Expo Memorial Park at three spots (North Gate Information, Global Citizens Exchange Center, West Gate Information), and there are not many large ones — at North Gate Information only 4 large lockers (¥600). Drop-off is until 16:00, and you can't collect after 18:00. The North Gate cloakroom takes bags for ¥600 each. Easiest: leave big bags at your hotel.
Other ways to get there
| Route | Fare | On board | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Subway + Linimo (via Fujigaoka) | ¥710 | 41 min | Cheapest and fastest |
| JR Chuo Line → Kozoji → Aichi Loop Line → Yakusa → Linimo | ¥1,100 | 47 min | Big event days, when Fujigaoka gets crowded (the park's own advice) |
| Meitetsu Bus direct (Meitetsu Bus Center 4F, stop 24) | ¥1,200 | 40 min | No change. Only a few buses a day; no standing, so a full bus can't take you. Some buses don't take cash. |
Times are riding time from the official pages; waiting and changing time are extra.
Quick questions
Can I use Suica or another IC card?
Yes. manaca and the other Japanese transit IC cards (Suica, ICOCA, PASMO and more) work on the whole Nagoya subway and the whole Linimo.
Does a day pass save money?
Not for a simple round trip. The subway part is ¥310 each way (¥620 return), the same as the ¥620 Donichi Eco Kippu (weekends, holidays and the 8th) and less than the ¥760 24-hour subway ticket. The Linimo 1-Day ticket is ¥900, more than the ¥800 Linimo return — it only helps if you get off at other Linimo stations too. It is sold at Linimo ticket machines for cash only.
Can I use a Japan Rail Pass?
Only on JR trains. The fastest route uses the city subway and the Linimo, which are not JR. On the Yakusa route, only the JR Chuo Line part is JR.
Is there an elevator?
Yes. At Nagoya Station, elevator EV.6 links the Higashiyama Line platform with the Central Gate (the car position nearest it, toward Fujigaoka, is No. 18). At Fujigaoka, elevator EV.1 goes from the arrival platform up to the gates (nearest car position: No. 13).
How far is each area from the station?
From Ai·Chikyu-haku Kinen Koen Station: Hill of Youth about 300 m, Ghibli's Grand Warehouse about 400 m, Mononoke Village and Valley of Witches about 800 m, Dondoko Forest about 1,000 m (official distances).
